With a desire to leave behind the heat of the Nevada desert and return to the wonders of the Pacific Northwest, Dick convinced Linda to pack her worldly belongings and, with her two elderly parents in tow, they traveled to Lakewood, Washington. After the perils and pleasures of house hunting, they stumbled on their future “Dream Home” where they planned to live forever and ever. In August 2002, they signed on the dotted line and in November they eagerly become proud Washingtonians.
Then the moving vans began to roll in and load after load arrived. It was clear to all, Dick and Linda had come to stay. To seal his commitment that he would not ask her to move again, Dick even trashed his treasured computer and electronic boxes. Together they unpacked box after box and with gleeful joy like two children on Christmas morning, they began the painstaking process of turning this once Plain Jane home into a stunning jewel on American Lake.
Dick and Linda found themselves connecting to the very soul of their home. They soon learned that she deserved only the very best and they set about giving her just that. They upgraded, added, and enhanced nearly every aspect of their “Dream Home.” From the gourmet Viking kitchen to the THX Ultra II theater, from the Taj Mahal of docks to the park-like professional landscaping, they spared no expense.
As you navigate through the detailed photos, you will see the massive list of extras and luxuries seldom found in one home. With great love and passion, Dick and Linda transformed an ugly ducking into the beautiful swan that you see on this website.
Unfortunately, forever is not forever, at least not for Dick and Linda. The time has come for them to take on additional family responsibilities. They must now add another elderly parent to their entourage. Dick and Linda, again with her parents in tow, will move to Florida to help care for Dick’s mother.
With heavy hearts and tears in their eyes, they must allow new owners with new dreams to take over their beloved home.
If you think you would enjoy spending summer days on the lake, evenings watching the latest DVD in the theater, or entertaining family and friends on the dock, this home may be just right for you. If you have the love and passion needed to enjoy paradise, please look at the photos and then call Grace Hudtloff at 253-581-1100 to learn more about how you can call this your very own “Dream Home.”
